I'm not surprised, Cookie.
Its a 6 year old design so it wouldn't make any sense to buy a new one unless it was a bargain.
They are still very capable bikes no doubt but you can buy s/h ones for £5k now. The earlier 2008-1 bikes are better looking too.

Not that I'm a cynic you understand, but I think Duke hit the nail on the head, I've seen Ford, Vauxhall and Triumph all do the same thing, a fancy paint job and all the extras on special edition models have signalled them wringing the last sales out of a failing model.
The new model is generally announced 6-18 months later.
Maybe the V4 is imminent.

Possibly, Yamaha are reported to be dabbling in triples as well.
