Took the wheels off. Cleaned the callipers, chain and wheels. Checked the brake pads. Placed a new decal on the bike.
Looks good

Who keeps a bike long enough to need an MOT?
At least it's only off the road for a couple of days.

Managed at long last to get all the mud and grass off the RSV4 and get rid of all the cracked fairing, the bellypan is intact so will keep that as a spare.
Doesn't look too bad but I think I need a new BST front wheel, depends what it looks like with the tyre off.
defo :
new rearsets
new LH clipon & switchgear
steering damper ( unless it can be repaired )
Clock bracket
crash bungs

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Used it to and from work last night.
On the way home I was heading towards town, traffic was heavy, slightly cloudy and also noticed a very fine shower (didnt get wet jist visor got a little wet). Anyway filtering along, i head up to the edge of town, traffic heavy, stand still almost, and as i get closer i notice a bike, the biker was clearly pondering whether to filter or not, i ride past him and waved, lile you do to other riders. I get through some more of the traffic and i notice him decide to filter with me! I manage to get through everything all the way up in to town and then hit the road works, he got stuck half way

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Did a stand up at work (basically helping out another shift on one of my days off) and when i was riding home this morning i was filtering past the cars. I got a little stuck so had to wait behind a van But just in front of a car i had just filtered by. The lady revved her engine and started to drive for what i could gather into me. She didnt go into me but she got so close. I could hear her shouting something so turned around her face was angry and she looked away but still fuming. I then looked back to the traffic and she once again shouted and i looked in my mirror dhe was giving me the wa [ker sign. I really couldnt make heads nor tails of what i had done that upset her so much. I thought she was going to drive into me at first.
Anyway i saw an opportunity to get as far away as possible from her and i did. Dont have time for people like that

Next time that happens put your bike on the stand blocking their car and walk back for a quiet chat. It's amazing how reasonable they become, very quickly.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
To be honest that sounds very reasonable in my opinion and would be a good shout. Personally i was shocked that she went like that. Ive only ever experienced it a few times before but not for years and this was unprovoked she had no reason to get like that. I was happier when i saw an opening in the traffic and i could get out to be honest! Not something you wabt after 12 hours of being on your feet in an noisy environment!!Monty wrote:Next time that happens put your bike on the stand blocking their car and walk back for a quiet chat. Ive had that a couple of times before, funnily enough its always been women with me to, it really really seems to piss them off filtering.
I on the other hand had MOT done this morning, a nice clean bill of health

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I think like a lot of drivers they don't realise filtering is legal and seem more willing to try and 'educate' us 'ignorant' 'rude' bikers that push in the traffic

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
It's definitely seems to be more of a female thing, maybe it's common sense related?
I remember being in the passenger seat at some road works when Sarah was driving. A bike came up to the front and tucked in in front of our car. She got really annoyed and said who said he could push in.
The fact that by the time she'd taken the hand brake off (who does that?) and got it in to first, he was 500 yards up the road was totally lost on her.

It is definitely that pushing in mentality isn't it? and as you say it doesn't seem to cross peoples minds that by time you have gone you are never in their way at allMonty wrote:It's definitely seems to be more of a female thing, maybe it's common sense related?
