Tried to start it. It didn't go well.
Put the optimate on but i think the battery has had it. Its now going to have to be washed as just after I took the cover off and went back inside it pissed it down.

Rode it in the rain to the dealers.
I need a new rear tyre, turning is getting to be a bit weird as the rear has squared off.

Thanks Cookie, Rossgo and Duke.
Maybe with the new 800 and 1200 tigers just hitting the showroom floors this has knocked the used prices ?
I'm happy with the deal and can't wait to get out on it

Went out for an hour on the 690 around the small back roads of South Derbyshire ... It was bloomin freezin
...... wet in places and having an enduro rear tyre fitted at the moment made me heart skip a few beats when the tyre let go but it was still fun to get out

Gave the Versys some TLC as I try to reverse the effects of riding through the winter. It's not too bad but there's a load of gunk and road crap on the bike plus salt and grit caked in various places.
I'll do a bit of polishing and degreasing each time I wash the bike

Realised that when the builders start on the kitchen next week the bike will have to move. So I built it a new parking spot with some left over patio slabs.

I left the bike at home as the roads had ice on them this morning.
Then spent an hour parked on the motorway because of a crash.
Oh well, at least I was warm.

A cold ride in this morning. There were patches of ice and frost on the road so the front was a bit twitchy. Still, it kept me awake.

Picked up my new to me bike
With the weather set to be fine of course it pee'd it down and the bike was dirty by the time I got to my son's , so there was nothing for it but take the long way home over the Peak and get it proper dirty

Made it somewhere better to live than the cover on the patio.
The block work is temporary, now I know it works I'm going to make a timber frame and get some decent slabs under it.

Nice one scuff, cracking bike. And now it's dirty you can get to know it a whole lot better by giving it a good clean..Scuff wrote:Picked up my new to me bike![]()

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Rode it this afternoon and had a little fun.... Oh and scared the crap out of myself.... for the first time in a very very very long time I made a mistake that put me in a spot of trouble. Over took a car only to have another one heading for me straight on!!!
I could have made myself some room and got out of the way any other day, however today I seemed to have misplaced the brake, I dont know what happened but I could not scrub any speed as I failed to use the brakes....
I know, I know HOW on earth,I have not got a scoobie, how I managed to miss pulling the lever, using the rear! Needless to say I threaded the eye of the needle, thanks to the quick thinking, and no doubt shocked driver coming towards me i did not end up in his front seat, as he made the effort to move over..not the widest of roads.
Felt very foolish and lucky all at the same time.... very rare for me to put myself in a position like that, its normal me taking actions due to some other twonk! today it was me
So for the rest of the afternoon ride I went back to school in my own head, and made sure I was back on track.
Funny thing is I past two cars earlier, both grey and thought to myself they were really hard to see, and said to myself I must keep an eye out.... Only to head straight for a grey car half an hour later.

So easily done, Frankie, especially when we are mostly a little bit rusty.
Took mine out for an hour this morning. felt soooo good to be riding again. Cant wait for the better days now.
