Ride into work this morning. There was a very light dusting of snow on the road and some patches of ice but the bike didn't seem to mind.
I need to start thinking about a new rear tyre for the Versys as the Z8 is starting to square off. I'm a bit surprised it's going so soon as the tyres have done less than 6,000 miles.

We had planned to head away up the coast on the bike this weekend but looking at the forecast I don’t think I’ll bother. Last time I did that trip it was 45 deg C + and I nearly killed Jess with heat exhaustion

I was going to give the Versys a good scrub, but it's snowing.

Dropped the Versys off for repairs and new chain and sprockets.
For today and tomorrow I will be flying around on a Ninja 650. Cracking little bike. I'll do a mini review tomorrow once I've handed it back.

Spent some of yesterday trying to apply helicopter tape to the rear flanks of the 765. My god that stuff is hard work to get right. It's a bit bubbly on one side, but will protect the rear which is already starting to mark. I managed to polish 99% of it out before putting the tape on, but stretching and heating the tape as well as dealing with complex curves isnt fun.
Certainly the seats rub the tank and subframe when they are on, so i've covered those bits too.

Put the battery on charge. One day soon I'll get time to take the cover off...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
So, I am starting with So as it seems to be the way every fecker starts a sentence now....
So 233 miles later I am back home, did not intend to spend all day out, I did not feel cold when I was around Oxford way, so thought why not head to Stow. Roads were very iffy in places, massive mud mounds where you want to put the bike in few places, and a few bone dry roads... Lovely... dry roads..mmmmmm (Said in the way Homer does when thinking about doughnuts)
Got to Lucy's no seat out the back, full up inside, new staff.... DID not know who I am LOL) No stopping for me
Had a chat with a guy who was with a bunch of bikers drinking in the pub next door. The Group is Toffs and Totties they do charity rides in the area. Seem to fill the whole car park area with bikes when the do them.
Was going to head to AV8, in the end did the long run back, via Lechlade, Wantage. Why it is when you come up on your favs on the route, you get Mr or Mrs Magoo plodding on getting in your way.....!!! When the sun goes in you remember its still Jan and cold

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Today I went for a ride with the bloke across the street, he wanted some company while he's running in his new MT-09 so we did about 60 miles at a reasonable pace for the road conditions, then cleaned the bikes on my drive since he hasn't got a pressure washer.
Also gave them both a mist of ACF-50 and a quick polish.

Nice ride into work. No rain, not much wind, dry roads, reasonably warm and it was light for most of the journey. Happy days.
