Best all round tyres.
It's probably been asked a thousand times, but what tyres does anyone recommend?
I'm new to the world of bikes, so are the usual car tyre manufacturers the ones to look out for or are there better bike specific brands?
I've got a Kwack er6f.
Ta in advance.

You got to have the Metzler M7RR on the list. Brilliant tyre. They are personal choice however......

All of them, they're all good now. I can honestly say I've not bought a bad tyre in the last few years. Have a look at what offers are on, but I'd say the Metzler M5s would be a great tyre for your bike all year round if you can still find some. Or the M7RRs.

Re: Best all round tyres.
We're predominantly Metzeler fans on here. The M7RR is probably the best all round tyre going, we've used them in torrential rain and on the track and they do it all.
If you want something cheaper I use the Z8s on the Versys and they're pretty good all year round. But you're a firefighter who earns far too much money and only has to do 1 day a month, so go with the M7RR tyres.

Dunlop Roadsamart 3's for the kind of bike you have.
On the other hand, my wife usesMetzeller Z8's on her Suzuki GSX S, my bike will be getting M7 rr when due.

I'm another vote for m7rr's. The grip, predictability, and feedback is amazing from them.

Metzeler here too, the M5 was a huge success on all manner of bikes and the M7RR is the next development of the M5. That said, everyone I know that has used that series of tyre were experienced riders on sports bikes and used the grip (if you know what I mean
)
Might be worth looking at the most recent tyre thread on the SV650 thread as well?
