Quickshifter Recommendations

Ok so i feel something is lacking and im seriously considering a quickshifter as i believe it is the second most best invention for a bike after the auto blipper .

I haven't got much info about different brands or infact which may be the best on the market and which maybe the worst on the market. I honestly don't really know enough to say even how much they are so help is required as I know you lovely people have a wave of knowledge and experience on this matter

I am heading to NEC Motorcycle Live soon for my father son day which is usually our yearly trip but missed out last year and I feel this would be the best possible day to pick something up.

So what prices are they going for?
What brands should I look out for or infact avoid?
How easy are they to install - I wouldn't be installing it but how long for a mechanic to install with new map etc (would prefer dealer to do this all)?

I'll be honest if it is too much then I'll have to leave it but I'm hoping I'll be able to pick something up

Any help, advice or recommendations are going to be a big help

AS your down south mate I would HIGHLY recommend a day out to HM Racing, they are in Edenbridge in Surrey near Gatwick, They make GP quality gear and Ive never heard a bad word about them. Whenever Ive spoken to them they have always been really helpful and prices quoted have always been reasonable for World class service

Cheers guys. I'll be honest I didn't realise they were that much. I am very nieve in the subject and thought £150 would be enough

It doesn't have to be for track bike it's for mainly road riding but with occasional track day. However when I go out it is for fast road so would a track qiclshifter be too much for road?

A quick shifter is always good to have, if you can have a blipper too then just do it.

Necessary? No, but awesome none the less.

They aren’t a cheap addition to a bike, but they’re dead trick and if you get a good one you can probably swap it to your next bike.

HM are top kit, but if you want something cheaper make sure that, 1, you can buy spares if required, and 2, it’s got some form of adjustment for the cut duration etc.

All that said, money spent on suspension with a reputable specialist makes a big difference to the bike and can transform the handling, especially if like me you’re lighter than average.

I can honestly say I have NEVER and will NEVER be lighter than average........

My set up isnt too bad in all honesty im quite happy for the moment don't fancy buying new shocks or anythong, may get it set up at some point but not yet. QS is an idea but maybe I'll have to wait until next year as that's quite pricy for the moment, I wouldn't want to go cheap on something that's to do with gears personally. A happy medium would be prefect!

Healtech got them on 2 bikes had them on a couple more and each one has been brilliant. It works via an app you can change the cut rev depending. Sensitive alsorts there regular updates on the software one of the easiest to fit as you don't need a rod sometimes. Don't over pay just cause it has an fancy name

Nope none had a few sensitivity settings needed adjusting but a couple of clicks with the app on the phone and all done. And that's not the units fault more the setup. Also the back is good as it's bikers store discount who sells them and if you mention a few forums he does 10% off usually

Translogic and heal tech. I may have to start calling these guys up. I have test rode a few bikes (the ones I've done ride reviews on) and now I feel lile I need it in my life!

When you guys day they are easy to install, personally I'd rather a main garage fit them as they know what to do but what is required to fit them, how long does it usually take?

Seat off , tank off or propped. Air box off so you can get to the coils. May need a bit of wiring depending on bike. Rear set taken apart for sensor. I would say 2-3 hours for a garage.

Do it your self maybe a day if you take your time its not hard but just got to remember to connect everything back up air box has quite a few pipes and easy to for get one

Thought you had teething problems if not I'll give them serious consideration when I get the 675 as much cheaper than translogic.

Working great on the 675 and the gsxr and it worked great on the zx10. Just when I hit 170 coming to yours that time it started activating due to the wind / sensitivity but I adjusted and all was good they do take a little bit of setup but thats just time

HM fitted on my track bike, stand alone quick shifter great piece of kit, not cheep but being stand alone can always come off and go on a another bike in the future.

Same on the ZX10R trackbike, addictive good fun.

The Mutli doesn't need one either, but I'm still considering it!
