First time for everything
First time for everything
I've never had a puncture on a tubeless tyre before now. I have years ago on my old honda super dream 250/400 days of inner tubes. Sadly that changed today on a 2 day old pilot road 2.
Somehow I managed to roll over some smashed mirror fragments outside the chippy in the middle of Market Harborough during a ride out. limped it to a petrol station and squeezed in 50psi to race around looking for an open garage. I found the only open garagevans luckily a young lad, who is going to register here, took pity on a fellow biker caught in a pickle 50 miles from home and took it on himself to risk getting sacked and try and fix it.
He lent me the 36mm wrench and a paddock stand (which he went home for) to remove the back wheel. Then used a car puncture repair and a bit of improvisation to shoe horn it in from the inside of the tyre. All to the tuts and disapproval of the boss who was clearly unhappy with Elliott helping me out.. They are a car only place and 'do not do bikes'.
Banged 42psi in and it held.
Wasn't charged for this but had a little cash on me to get him a drink.
Thanks Elliott for your help I hope your back side isn't too sore after the pummeling the gaffa have you after I'd gone.

Yes without Elliott my next step was to find somewhere to stash the bike and call for a lift...

Re: First time for everything
That is rubbish luck, but cracking service.
I guess if you was really stuck you could have asked Elliot to phone home.

Re: First time for everything
I had my phone but home was over 50 miles away. Somebody would have come to get me but bike would've stayed.
6th gear nackered, ripped off by seller
Conned by suspension place into suspension 'upgrades' I already had. Then charged 50% more than quoted.
Broke down twice this week with dodgy rectifier, the first time on a rare occasion i had no phone.
Phone fell off bike and smashed whilst lost at spigetti junction.
Puncture
Lost leathers off back of bike which someone then stole, only just replaced them.
50 or so more small things that add up to nothing ever goes right with this **** bike. It's not a good luck bike.

We'll done to Elliot clearly a good bloke to of bumped into.
How long have you had this bike for sounds like maybe you should get rid if it's causes many problems.

Bought out in 2012 and nothing but crap luck since. There's evil forces at play somewhere

Maybe there's a time to say good bye!? Always better to be out on it than underneath it!
