Unless the wires are damaged I doubt they are the cause will more be the ends the wires will be pretty obvious if it's gone as it will be warn through or brokeItchy wrote:I'm about as good with electrics as I am with West Yorkshire hairpins, my friend!rocket wrote: are you any good with a soldering wire and have a multi meter or a circuit tester ?? just recently wired mine into the bike used a relay so not to over load any of the bikes circuit and an ignition feed to the relay so it only works when the ignition is on.
You could test what you have by testing it with a multi meter or circuit tester but I'm guessing its the switch unless the wires caught some were.
If you want any help on either just post up or send me a message
I'll have a look at the weekend. If it's nothing visible I can take the wire into work, I know there are some multi meters in there.
Not unless it's gone through i would not have thought it was the cable unless there a fault on the ends
If it has been touching the frame or something is it likely to be f**ked?
What did you do to your bike today ??

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Finally felt well enough to get the bike out, hip is still a bit dodgy but handled a couple of hours in the saddle. Took Jess for a ride through the mountains to the Blue Mountains side and to a new biker cafe called Caffiene and Gasoline. I actually discovered this place while John the owner was doing the fit out before he opened and had a great chat to him. Ride was a bit cold (for Aussie standards) down to 5 deg C, and a bit wet in places but still managed to give it a good thrash. Great cafe and awesome food and coffee. Jess is really comfortable on the back now and was giving me a hurry up so all evidence of chicken strips are gone now

I haven't done anything to any of the bikes for ages even riding
apart from getting an MOT on the 999.

I thought you might want a reminder of what a bike looks like outside of a garage
As I got off the bike someone at work asked "is that your bike?" No mate, I nicked it.

Normally I find that sort of comment is followed by "how fast does it go?"

Not bad for two up I reckon! Especially since Jess has done a total of about 1000 kms on the back so farKwacky wrote:The tyre is looking nicely scrubbed in

It about time she went for her licence. That'll give you an excuse to get another bike in the garage.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
You forget, I don't need an excuse!! Once the track bike goes, there will be another quick smart. Still no sure if it'll be a off-roader or a roadie solely for my use. Still trying to talk my good friend out of that 748R she hasn't ridden in 4 yrs.Kwacky wrote:It about time she went for her licence. That'll give you an excuse to get another bike in the garage.
We have talked about Jess going for her licence, and one of the reasons I was thinking of an off roader so she can learn on it.

Getting stopped by the French rozzers with duke
Apart from duke not having his license, me not having insurance papers for the new bike yet (it is insured) and then discovering Mrs Cookiemonster's bike has an illegally small plate it was fine
Squeeky bum time for a little while. I played the 'i don't have the cash with me' routine (i did just about) he let us off (there were 4 of them)
225 euros of fines avoided there
The new bike on the other hand is fecking amazing.

Spanked it on the way home. That bike loves to be thrown about, it's so fecking light.
Then at home I put the SP engineering blanking plugs on it and adjusted the brake.
Now about to wash the Versys before tomorrows service.
