Re: Caught Speeding.... bugger.
I hate the idea of doing enforcement through speed cameras. I'd never personally issue a citation for 6 mph over the speed limit. Cameras take all the ability to apply common sense out of policing, which does absolutely nothing to improve relationships between the public and law enforcement.

The uk is littered with cameras ,common sense has pretty much gone out the window in this countryMac wrote:I hate the idea of doing enforcement through speed cameras. Re: Caught Speeding.... bugger.
Shite news mate. Let us all know what's going on when you know more. I bloody hate speed cameras. They are the stupidest thing on our roads as they have no human element to it. If you got stpopped by a copper he prob would of let you off and you would of known a camera is more like a grass. He does it behind your back and then all hell breaks loose.
All I can say is really hope you didn't get caught any other time and you just get a speed awareness course

If you get banned and have to get to work , just keep riding anyway. The fine will be less than having your house repossessed. Insure the bike under your lasses name and never take your helmet off outside the house

If you're going down the criminal route don't forget to register the bike in someone else's name so your details don't come up on a PNC check of your numberplate.

Just a quick update.
No more post so far.
I want to get the 14 days out of the way before wiping my brow though.

Re: Caught Speeding.... bugger.
I paid a visit to D6 the other night to pick up the levers for the kwak.
On the way there I spotted a White Speed Triple being driven very carefully at just under 40mph through some roadworks.
I think he's learned his lesson

Re: Caught Speeding.... bugger.
LOL, Yeah I had some mad bastard with a bright green mazda all over my tail pipes.
today is last day of 14 days. Nothing else so far so *touch wood/erection* all good.
One thing it has done, apart from calm me down, is realise it doens't make a massive difference to how fast I get to work, but does make a massive difference to tank range. I reckon by driving steadily I've been getting 20miles more per tank. Which when I am doing 300miles a week minimum just commuting makes a real difference to my pocket.
When I get home tongiht (after another 10K run straight after work) I will fillin the form and apply for the speed awareness course (or however it happens. It does give it as an option).

Re: Caught Speeding.... bugger.
I'm the same. I've noticed the time I make gains is filtering through traffic. Doing silly speeds to get to the traffic jams makes no difference. My tank range has gone up by about 15 miles.

That's exactly the same. IT's the filtering. Especially if there's been an accident or blockage (which seems quite often).
Also after I've been for a run, I am so knackered, I'm happy to tootle back. tHE traffic is normally lighter so no need to filter either. And it feels like you are going really fast at 50mph, after running 10K.
