6.5 mile run last night. First run for a couple of weeks, boy did it feel good.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
We did some self defence work last night in Taekwondo. I got to show off some of my old Aikido skills. It's amazing what you can remember, I've not done it for years. My instructor has asked me to do a class for some basic stuff, like breaking holds and simple put downs (that's putting a person to the floor, not slagging off their cheap shoes).

From all the coached instruction I've had with running, stretching and resting is as important as exercising.Perkles wrote:Resting today aching all over but will do some proper stretching I think it's important for recovery

Haha.. I already do - I struggle to find trousers that fit!
My PB squat was 170kg which was 2x my bodyweight at the time. I'm currently rehabilitating my knee after LCL ligament damage a couple of months back so taking it steady

Yep. I forget the one velodrome racer....only ever rode a bicycle when he was racing them....otherwise it was always gym work.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I used to do sprinting and would quite like to get back into it but the daunting fact is I will probably never be as fast as I was at age 14.
I ran 100m in 11.5s and 200m in 23.7s

Excellent. You'll have to let me know if she's any good. I've lost mine since the gym shut.
