Re: What are you doing today ??
If you're going to go, go. But if a cop was to stop you, some random piece of paper isn't going to sway him too much one way or another.......they've already made their decision right around the time they put the lights on.
But if you go, you have a chance...you don't go, you have none.
Good Luck.

The police enforce the law.Blade wrote:So what you going to do if the Police say you cant travel, a trackday is not essential?.
Fwiw I believe you'll find that they don't actually have the power to enforce lockdown, as you will not be breaking any laws.?
They can issue enforcement notices, and their intention is to support the governments recommendation as there is sympathy for what government is trying to achieve. I would therefore expect that any official response they gave to your enquiry may well be discouraging.?

Re: What are you doing today ??
I think you and Blade are probably right, StMarks. The only things I'm aware they can do at the minute is to issue a fine and instruct you to go home. If you don't go home and you get stopped again you get a 2nd fine which is double the price of the first.
It's this bit that troubles me and is why I thought contacting the Police may be a good idea as, hopefully, the officer would see this email from the Police themselves and allow me through. Assuming the email confirms I am able to travel.
I think I'll leave it with the Police.
I've arranged some stop points for comfort breaks and resting spots.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Today I will be following my own, above advice and largely pretending Im on holiday in Spain having a great time
The kids are off school, the wife is working from home and finishing at 230pm so I'm not wasting such a great opportunity.
The day will solely involve eating and drinking too much and having a great day with my family in the sunshine

If young kids should go back to school and are being expected to oversee suitable social distancing, then I should be able to social distance correctly from other adults in an open space.

Not so fast, hotrod.....kids in school are in a controlled environment. "adults in an open space" by definition, are not.Cav wrote:

At this point it just sounds like you've already made a decision, and are just looking to vindicate it.

Well at least not as hard as trying to work out a woman's mind. Now that is a challenge, you would have greater success trying to establish what the colour seven tastes likePerkles wrote:have you got kids ?D41 wrote:Not so fast, hotrod.....kids in school are in a controlled environment.
