100 % on the comments above... The old adage, give em an inch and they will take a mile. Take back control.

I've been asked for a 2nd Interview on-site at this company. They've agreed to match my current salary and provide me with the training.

Monday's meeting with the global manufacturing manager consisted of, "do what you need to do to get these completed on time".
Email today from the strategic business manager said "the customer should be sent samples of each development product prior to manufacturing".
To put that into perspective, Monday's plan was to reduce time as much as possible. Todays plan is to increase project completion time by nearly 300 weeks.
Oh, and neither of these two managers have had a discussion.. why am I not surprised.

Surprise redundancies made at work. Can't tell if it's a cull or due to falling profit. They've frozen recruitment and overtime too. Even though production is horrifically understaffed and with numerous people on long term leave due to stress

That sounds like a company about to go under

I checked them out on Companies House and they're fecking minted! They've terminated a Director in August and appointed 2 new Directors on the same day. Their profits are 2.5million with more than that in the bank. Their assets are similar to that albeit they've invested over 7mil on new machines this year already but now they're not even letting people order a set of sidecutters to do some wiring maintenance jobs.
A lot of things are not adding up at the minute.

Could be wrong but I’ve seen similar behaviour a couple of times in my past. Stack the books to look healthy (even if getting that balance is not sustainable) reduced numbers and overheads, severely restrict operational expenses… oh? What’s this? We are being sold.

I've got my interview after work today. Downside is I'm fecking pissed off and I need to make sure I don't drain myself in preparation for what is a very important couple of hours.

I had the interview this evening. Honestly, I'm perplexed.
We already did a pre-close agreeing salary and training, and this 2nd interview was a formality to see the site and if my face fits. Then, first thing the MD said was, "for your qualifications I'd be looking at 35-40k".. about 10k less than agreed.
Both the recruiter and I are very confused and he sounded really annoyed. I suspect I won't be getting a job offer and he's annoyed they've likely wasted all our time. The more I have collected my thoughts the more confused I'm getting. Its left quite a taint to be honest and really made me question this company.

That is disappointing. Sounds like the left hand wasn’t talking to the right hand somewhere in that management structure.

I'm unsure but I suspect it's one of the two. If it's his interview tactic I am not a fan. If its a lack of communication within their small management team that's a red flag.

Sounds like it. I’ve always thought an interview works both ways. In this case you would be wise to be cautious.

Exactly that, Cookie. I've always approached an interview like I'm interviewing them, with this interview I didn't feel comfortable which is very unusual as I do genuinely enjoy interviewing.

I've started conversations with new recruiters and applied for another job today.
