I received a voice mail from Darren about a week ago, but it took me until yesterday to return his call. I know some of you may be curious about what's going on in his life, so I'll relay what he told me: Darren says he is divorcing, but he's casually dating again. He says he is on disability for the hip injury, and suffered from a bad limp, but that "suddenly went away a few days ago" and now there is no limp. He states he is not driving anymore because his leg was so weak, he had to physically lift it off the accelerator. He stated there were no charges from the incident, specifically no Drunk Driving charge. I asked him if he was mountain biking, and he stated that the one time he tried, he fell over onto his hip. He also states he has lost 20 lbs, mainly because he only eats one small meal a day, and only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. He also says that he has started doing stand-up comedy in a local club, and claims to be doing well at it.
Ultimately I feel like Darren is doing about the same as when he left the site. Not sure if he still posts on other sites, and if he says anything different over there, and I've tried not to be too judgmental in my post. I didn't post this to have a go at the man either, he obviously considers me a friend of some sort. I just thought some might want to know what's going on with him.

Re: D41
Thanks for the update.
D41 has registered on this site but as yet he's not activated his account.
He still posts on 675cc. He mentioned the stand up routine and his string of DD dates.
He's posted that the drugs they gave him at the crash scene meant that the reading they took at the scene was wrong, so he couldn't be prosecuted for DUI.
As I've always said, I hope he gets his life back on track.
