Never understood why the minute the seat belt light goes out on a plane you hear click click click as so many people remove them.

Its no problem to keep it on and, has here, it might one day save your life. Pilots cannot predict turbulence.

Fwiw I tend to "go to sleep" when I'm a transported passenger, especially when flying. I always leave my seatbelt buckled unless I have to leave my seat, as I feel I am discharging my safety to those who are transporting me.

Lets hope it may make some of the feckwits who fly to do so.

I always do - i dont mind flying, but its not a favourite.

I'm not seeing the connection here....the guy died from a heart attack, it had little to do with whether he was wearing a seat belt or not. Over 100 people were treated afterwards, and more than 50 are still in hospital.

Died from a heart attack probably because he smacked his head against the overhead lockers above when the plane dropped into the pocket of turbulence and he wasn’t wearing his seat belt to prevent it. Most people seem to have head injuries.

Is that possible, to have a heart attack from hitting your head?? Or you're just speculating?

They are saying that the plane dropped a mile in two minutes.
I dare say that bouncing around the cabin ceiling of an aeroplane that is falling at that rate would be inclined to affect the heart rate of even the healthiest of us, wouldn't it mate ??

Its possible to die from shock so i think its a certainty that falling out of the sky can induce a heart attack.

I don’t get it either. With all the air travel I’ve done my seat belt is always on and I’ve been rather glad a few times. After the 4 point harness we have to wear on the helicopter flight, the lap sash is barely noticeable.
