Many people won't have heard of him, but they'll have heard his music.
His band, Big Black, gained media attention by naming an album "Songs About Fu*king"
Not only was he a talented musician, but a very gifted producer. He's worked with Nirvana, The Pixies, PJ Harvey, Robert Plant, Manic Street Peachers... the list goes on.
