Rapid Training
Has anyone here got any experience of this company? They generally come high on the lists of places to try but i don't personally know anyone who has used them?

I am thinking of doing their half day course as a taster and if that goes well, i would look to do the there following courses next summer when hopefully i am working less.
I did find some of those narrow roads on the big Multi, difficult at the weekend and no doubt need to brush up on where I need to improve. Once the monkey on the shoulder gets into your brain, its hard to get rid of him.

Re: Rapid Training
Do you have anything specific you think needs improving? Or are you after more of an assessment?

Re: Rapid Training
Interesting. I'd be up for maybe doing some of that.
Its always a good idea to train and get new ideas.

No not really. But i have no doubt i have built up some habits that need to be eradicated. And there is always more to learn.Cav wrote:Do you have anything specific you think needs improving? Or are you after more of an assessment?
Cookie, the bigger courses they will do with two riders so worth considering perhaps next year.

Re: Rapid Training
I did slow riding skills as part of my IAM training. Have you thought about joining a club? You don't have to attend the meetings or do the ride outs but it's very supportive and as an advanced rider I get insurance discounts and other benefits.
I might rejoin the Birmingham group next year once covid has died down.

The Rapid Training however is an intensive couple of days which appeals to me. I will try the taster course posted anyway as it will give an insight into whether its worth pursuing with RT.

Re: Rapid Training
As Kwacky says, it sounds like you might benefit from joining a club like IAM or RoSPA instead of doing this course. They'll teach you a whole array of road craft techniques and you won't feel rushed to learn everything in one go.

Re: Rapid Training
Or doing both
Rapid Training will give you very detailed feedback. Once any issues have been identified you can work on those and in a group.
BAM are really good in providing specific training days for all aspects of riding. But it's no good Duke waiting for one of those days if he feels there's issues to address now.

Re: Rapid Training
In the meantime it may be worthwhile speaking to an IAM group and seeing if you can get in on one of the group evenings to see what the general feeling is like there. Our groups used to have seminars with tyre manufacturers, local police and all sorts of other people.. the information available from all of those is gold dust!
