Bridges and Tunnels in Italy

Just watched a report on the poor state of the bridges and tunnels in Italy. seems 200 odd tunnels are not built to regulations, due to crooked deals in the past. They have showed how many have collapsed, and crumbled. Drivers in Italy have to take their life in their hands using them.

Now a major fix is in place to sort this out. !

With concrete they used to give it a 100-year lifespan. The reality is closer to 50 years...or even less.
A good amount of that old 20th century infrastructure is due for R&R.
