Struggling to survive.
If ever there was a case for a wealth tax, its now.

There are too many cinemas, theatres, museums and live gig venues closing down.
Someone once said that you can judge a civilisation by the way they treat the arts.

It's a privately owned building, so I'm not sure what imposing a wealth tax on anyone would accomplish. The only royal or slim government connection it has is in it's name.
It's run by a charity, and owned by it's patrons, so you'd be forcing the wealthy to "donate" to a privately owned enterprise via a wealth tax, to fund other wealthy people's private investments/hobbies.

Like the countless other companies the government had bailed out over the years?

its a beautiful building and the acoustics are great it would be a shame to lose such an historic venue

Britain will be an impoverished society if it loses all its best theatres and venues.
Arts are one thing we are very good at. It needs funding desperately to survive.

I thought we were just talking about one specific venue.

You raised reasons why it shouldn't get help.

I'm only questioning why it should get help from people who have no connections or interest in the place, based solely on their income. People are voting with their wallets & staying away from theatres, cinemas, etc.
The gov't stepping in to help is only going to involve them in the arts, which I guess is okay, but sounds a bit ominous.

Strange this, or possibly not, I have been providing alot of kit via sub contractors on the Albert Hall, there has been a lot of work going on over the past year. not sure everyone on site is getting things right, companies, (Big companies) going bust working on this project as well.

So i would assume from client down the line people have been losing money hand over fist
