Ducati Hypermotard 950

Had the opportunity to test ride one of these the other day.
950 engine, tall bike and I do like the look.
Anyway after setting off down the road after about 5 minutes I was not sure if I liked it. The riding position is quite alien to me. Very much like a motocrosser. Sat well forward and upright and almost on top of the front wheel or so it feels like.
I can only just reach the floor on tippy toes but the bike carries its light weight so well it’s easy just to tip it on one side and flat foot that way.
Anyway back to the ride- once out of the traffic and on an open road the bike flows so much better. It works better being well sat forward and foot out cornering. Once that way the feel from the front tyre is amazing. The engine is very punchy and wants to lift the front with every blip of the throttle.it also makes a fantastic noise and pops and bangs on the over run.
Wind resistance is nowhere near as bad as expected and it’s still well capable of getting you ticked off by plod.
It’s a stop, point and squirt bike rather than getting it on its ear through the corner.
I was out for about an hour and a half on a mixture of roads and by the time I got back I didn’t want to get off it. It’s a real fun bike but you could do most types of riding on it. Even tour if not doing big mike days. I would love another go.
