I know this subject has been discussed and posted about, but i cant be arsed to find it, and things change, so my question is from experience of those using aftermarket sat navs, which do you feel are the better ones to look at for worldwide use.

I think you gave sen my Garmin on the Euro trips, Frankie. It is brilliant and works really well. When you come to motorway junctions in Europe the gantry signs on the screen are identical to those overhead on the gantry on the Mway. Makes it very easy to follow.

However it was easy to use on the Multi because I could put the screen in front of my eyes. I’ve tried it once on the Street and it doesn’t work as well because I can’t place the screen in my eyeline and to look at it means taking eyes off the road for too long.

I have a Garmin and agree with Duke. The identical gantry signs and split screen lane assist are useful especially in a foreign country at a busy inter section.

Used it on sportsbikes and it obviously works just as well but the position and subsequent viewing is more hazardous. You become a nodding dog as your constantly looking down, but that would happen on them all.

Another good feature on Garmin is it warns of cameras and has life time map updates.

Isn't it the Garmin's which work really well with headsets? Meaning you can pretty much ignore the screen and listen to the commands?

Only if you want some annoying woman yattering in your ear.

It does depend on what you want from it.

That Beeline system looks very good as it’s a simple direction arrow and very basic instructions.

Beeline gets some good reviews. It's a good price as well.

If you do get one, make sure it's good in sunlight. Mobile phones are handy with google maps but not good in sunny conditions.

The Garmin has variable brightness but cant remeber what its like in direct sunlight.

I have been trying to find out if it works outside the UK. I did download the app and it would appear so but i can't find a definitive answer.

I am still waiting for Triumph to make the bluetooth module avaialbe for my bike so i can have their satnav system on the dash. price will be the key here but someone on the ST FB page had his fitted on his 2020 ST3 last week and it does look very good.

They are £250 to £300 I understand.

BMW nav 6, fooking expensive IMO but works with the wonder wheel so you can mess about with it while riding.

Failing that, a good waterproof case, a usb port for charging, and Google maps / Waze.
