So the time had come for some new wheels, you all know how much I have enjoyed my S1000 R, well I have gone for the new one.
Changes to the geometry, engine, exhaust, gear shift, and style, subtle changes but lots of bits have changed, I am in
been thinking about it for ages, but i thought sod it, i am only on this planet once, life is too short. So gone for the blackstorm metallic, so red bikes are slow now and black bikes are the fastest now
,
All of the above for the better in my opinion, been out all day getting used to and dong the run in miles.
I have to say she is a lot smoother than the out going machine, this could be due to miles, age etc, all very tight right now.
One thing I have noticed is the suspension, a lot stiffer, again could be due to newness, only two main settings, road and dynamic, the old one had three - soft, Medium and hard, this seem to be medium and hard LOL...
Gear shift is super slick, felt as good as the RR I took out the other week, now I have up and down (officially).
The throttle seems to have a slight bit of play, in terms of me twisting and power happening, again this could be as I mainly rode in dynamic pro mode, which made the bike very tight on the controls. At the moment I don’t have access to dynamic pro until after the 1st service. I have the plug and could put it in, but as per the last bike I intend to hold onto for a while, so I want run in as I did last time.
So I reckon this is why, don’t get me wrong I don’t think anyone would notice, but living with mine one, I know every little sound, and movement with it, its all new on this one. But I have to say the bike feels really good, I think I will be enjoying this one just as much.
Being the sport model it has everything I need, I did get the rad guard fitted, EP one, I am paranoid about how fragile the rad and oil rads are. I could see from my old one how much of a bashing it got, stones and what not, you can see the wear line, in line with the wheel. So had to get that fitted. Had the tank pad throw in, with the fitting of the guard. I will be doing the usual blinging up in due course. Already put on the old engine guards, they look like new, paddock bobbins again off the old bike. To come tail tidy on order, plate to match, and I will do the levers, I always find the brake levers are ok, but the clutch lever always seem to bend away too much for my hand, makes it hard to blip it for a wheel up moment LOL......
But other than that, no more bling planned, sticking with the mirrors, I did put the bar end ones on the old bike, but decided to keep as is this time. Screen is the old screen as well. I have left a lot of stuff on the bike, they are all part and parcel of the bike so I have kept it all together. Not Zippy though, he is back on the bars of the new bike hehe.
Clocked up some good miles today around Oxfordshire and Bucks.... even did a little run up and down fish hill.....
A few pics of the beast.... started with 7 miles, now over 200
Question: I dont know why all my pics have all this crap with them rather than just a pic!!!
So firstly my first love (S1000R)

Oh Yeah and one of the best things ever is the sound of this bike, the cracking and popping and banging is awesome..... especially banging down the gears ........
