This was apparently pulling bikes close to the Raven at Whitchurch last night.

Be on your guard.

If you want karma, just look at the black stab vest he's wearing over his black gear.
Then think about the temperatures currently (sun)

Perhaps he's already being punished .? ;)

He'll wear that vest rain or shine...he'll be used to it. That said, if they're anything like a Kevlar vest (and I have no idea if they are, except their principle is the same), then they're a bit restrictive & warmish at the best of times.

You never get used to it.

I threw away 3 sets of BKS issue leathers because unless it was the depths of winter with 3 foot of snow on the ground you just could not wear them, and in those conditions you had to be nuts to be out on the bike, but sometimes there is no option.

One year at Royal Ascot I lost over a stone in weight despite keeping hydrated, then a week or so later I was at Henley Regatta and the same thing happened all because of the kit we were issued (but thats another story)

One of the perks of riding the plain bike (especially if you were surveillance bike trained) was that we could choose our own kit, and often we would get a double issue, with one set in black but lighter than standard issue, and marked up for patrol work so we could stop and book people, and it was perfect when doing SEG work out of Windsor or Chequers in the summer.

Best job in the world, and I should know, I was fortunate enough to be able to do it for over 20 years, but it is not so much fun when the weather was/is like we are currently experiencing.

I don't envy anyone on a bike today.

I envy everyone doing a trackday.. until they get back to the garage without a breeze - then it's hell

Even though my ride averages 50mph, there was no way I was doing it today. I'm just lucky I can work at home.
