The article is in German, so don't worry about clicking the link.

The key part is this:

That'll bring out some very special machines.

Therefore, it is now considered to prescribe a minimum production of 50 machines for all homologated models for the Superbike World Championship, the purchase price could be capped at 40,000 euros. Then it's up to the works like BMW, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Honda to build an anti-Ducati V4R machine or be happy with the existing models when they enter the top five. Currently, over two years at least 500 motorcycles must be built to get the homologation. In the past, up to 3000 produced bikes were mandatory.

Ooooh.. some very interesting bikes then - for some reason I doubt BMW will bother making a homologation special but Honda will because they bloody need it

Flippin’ heck that’s going to generate some proper exotica, although most of those 50 bikes will never see a road or racetrack, they’ll go straight into private collections.

They do say minimum 50 and for 40k or less they will need to sell a few (hopefully).

As you say, very interesting and some true specials will appear.
