Is it as easy as it looks?

Can't say specifically for your model, but generally.... Yup.

I was told that mine is notchy, so I've ordered a new one which arrived yesterday.
It looks simple enough but I wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Do people lube the cable before they fit it?

The new one should be lubed. It's a piece of piss to change though.

This is Kawasaki we're talking about. I'm sure their motto is "go in dry".

You've got to at least spit on it then.

Piece of piss to replace and shouldn't need lube as brand new but lubing the old one would have probably cured the snatch ironically

I must admit I've never lubed a clutch cable. I've never had to replace one though so it's all about firsts

Cheaper enough to replace but good practice to lube every now and then. Get yourself a cable luber for a couple of quid

Checking tyre pressure is hard work as far as I'm concerned

A quick hint - leave the old one in place and use the old one to route the new one. Depending on the route it takes it can be a PITA to thread otherwise. If you tie a string guide to the end of the new one and around the old one, you can slide the new one in place.
The fit it both ends and pull the old one out

I remember that!! What a Godawful mess!!!
My bicycle cables are all hydraulic these days. I did try the electric shifters but they are a resolute POS. Hated them.
