Looking at getting either of the above. thinking that the armored shirt i maybe able to use on the motor cross bike as well. When i visited the local shop the other day they raved about a company called forcefield. What are peoples thoughts, experiences with back protectors or armored shirts.

I've had a Forcefield back protector for about 6-7yrs, it does what it says on the tin and just works, the only thing I've noticed with it is that it's pretty stiff when you first put it on, but a bit of body warmth will make it a lot more flexible and it'll mould to your body shape perfectly, so just be warned it might feel a bit stiff when you first put it on. Hth.

Forcefield is excellent kit. You can't go wrong with their stuff.

I've just bought one of the Knox armoured under shirts. Makes jackets nice and light as you can remove the standard armour and wear this over the top. Also acts as base layer

I have had a Forcefield back protector and it is very good but it does get very warm and sweaty. So much so i bought myself a Dainese instead and it is much better for allowing airflow through the back and as a result more comfortable.

I use the dainese back protector and it's very comfortable under leathers which some are not.

It's also vented so you don't get all sweaty.

Crashed in it twice with no back injuries either so get to be worth a recommendation.

Don't buy one with out trying under your leathers though as some a bulky and may not fit.

I got a alpinestars back protector simply because I had alpinestars leathers. Not to be a fanboy but because they clip together with a popper at the top so there are less straps round me. Just something to think about if you're buying new leathers too? It's always nice to have kit that fits together well.
Forcefield always won awards and tests though so top make.
Having crashed with a back protector I am 100% sure it saved me some pain and I don't ride without one now.

Have you checked out the Ride magazine reviews and recommendations Rocket, they normally do very comprehensive tests.

You need a back protector with a wide Velcro strap to go around your middle.

It makes you look slimmer.
