Yamaha are throwing a lot of weight behind there factory teams and seems to be paying dividends.

Stoner fastest Honda. Pretty impressive for someone with no experience on a sbk and hasn't raced for years.

I thought Stoner had been testing for Honda since he left MotoGP?

I do hope Stoner is OK. No idea what happened, very strange looking crash.

He hasn't ridden a production class racer like a WSBK spec bike which is hugely different to a Motogp prototype on Bridgestones was the point.

Not seen anything on the crash was it a big one ? Is the team out of the event ?

Looks an issue with the front wheel. It seems to wobble as he comes out of that corner.

There seemed to be a depression there and he changed line, running wide and eventually ran off track. It was almost like the front was going away and he had to stand it back up mid corner.

Glad to see his missus hasn't lost it....

Honda are saying it was a mechanical fault.

It looked like either he went in way too hot or the front had massive understeer. :(

Edit, after looking at it several times it looks like the dip caused the understeer, which I find odd as Stoner must have done hundreds of laps of Suzuka as it's Honda's own track, so he must have known the dip was there?

Agree the dip looked to be what started it all but like Deegee says Stoner must have known it was there.

If i remember right, the reason Motogp stopped using Suzuka was because it was considered that the barriers were too close to the track in too many places.

I think it was after Darijiro Kato went into the barrier and tragically lost his live. Great circuit but very little run off and too much armco.

The word from Too Tall Tel on the commentary was the throttle stuff open, which would make it understeer then maybe he headeded for the grass and bit a handful of front brake as to get off the thing?

Only on page 2 of "Ring of Fire" but it's opens with that incident, and you're dead right mate.
