Some people need to remember this:-

Last but not least if you are going to report an incident don’t post the footage on any social media site or the like until any proceedings have been finalised. Such clips bring with them views and comments, all might effect proceedings or prevent them. So if you feel you must share it with the Social Media masses prior to a court, take your 15 minutes of fame but reconsider reporting it to ourselves as you could jeopardise any prosecution before it has even started.

Just get all your mates to post up how safe and courtesy your riding was and don't know what all the fuss is about.

Don't understand how the police have any say in what you do with your own footage. So we fought in the first and second world war for freedom, women starved themselves for their right of equality and we can't do what we want with a video?!

And yet podple still come here and say we are a free country and the government try to make us look like we have everything. Makes me laugh

You're not banned from posting the footage. It's police advice. Cases have been thrown out for less.

If I had evidence of somwthing I would name and shame the gits. Didn't realise they would/ could throw a case out for doing something like that. Just seems starmge to me!

Am understanding this correctly if you have footage of an illegal act and post it on social media and people comment on it, the case can be thrown out of court or not even get to court.

Sounds like a way to manipulate the system to get off comitting a crime Scott free

Leave the legal issues to the lawyers

If you're called to Court to be a juror the first time you should hear evidence about the case is in that Court. It's the best way to ensure that jurors remain impartial.

So quickly post stuff before court on every social media system there is to help you get off. Wahooooo

Might be considered perverting the course of justice I would think.

I think what the police are referring to are clips like Duke posted with the road rage driver. If the victim (the motorcyclist with the GoPro) posted that clip prior to the resolution of the case, a defense attorney is going to attempt to show the comments as having tainted the jury by "trying the case in the court of public opinion". I don't think posting a video of oneself or a group being a hooligan is going to negate the possibility of charges being filed. That was the take that I got from the comment by the officer anyway, I could stand to be corrected.
