I couldn't help but smile as I read this paragraph

What ever happened to gold top milk?

I used to deliver the milk when I was a school kid and it paid quite well for a teenager in the 80's.

Was that the white stuff that had CREAM at the top?? Nomnom

Tried to hang on to milk bottle delivery as long as possible but it's as rare as rocking horse poop round here now

Gold top was the creamy stuff, but even the skimmed used to have some cream on it.

Always had milk delivered right up till I was about 30 and living on my own, the cream was great on cereal but awful in tea, the milk bottles were just right for launching rockets on fireworks night as well as I recall, happy memories indeed.

As a pre-school child I remember one of these delivering our milk, Mum knew the Milkman and all his family, his milk float fascinated me - it looked too heavy for him to pull, but there was no engine. I'd totally forgotten that until this thread, thanks for posting Kwacky.

We still have our milk delivered from a farm about 7 miles away. Anything to keep my money out of a supermarket till.
