Sat in bed watching the tour this morning.

They come quite close to me but the roads will be total grid lock, people have apparently been camping out for 3 days.

I fancy a blast on my bike (motor not push) but I reckon the roads will be extremely busy with all the traffic heading over to woodhead and sheffield, plus all those Police bikes look like they will be very busy today.

Me and Flow did yesterday. We rode through all the council road blocks and got to the traffic police at the bottom of Wood Head. Asked the coppers if we could park up and they basically said well you're here now (top blokes).

Cracking day out, amazing atmosphere especially when about 6 helicopters suddenly descended on us. I'll post some pics and vids later.

The tour is amazingly well organised. We saw a stage a few years ago. The gendarmes know how to ride and block roads.

Did the frenchies do the roadwork or was it the British police?

Looked really good on tv too :)

Not near us this year :(

The council did the road closures and the UK traffic police maintained the routes out for the emergency services. The french and brit bikes in the convoy vid ran the route with the caravan and the bikes.

The Frenchies were, shall we say a bit more spirited than the Brits!
