Maybe (lol) but Jess has never been up the top end so I’ll have to let her out for a bit of a look about....maybe :D

So back in Darwin, saw the company doctor. MRI report finally came through. Superficial lateral meniscus tear. He’s going to recommend I go back offshore but it’s ultimately the decision of the onshore medical team. Because that decision won’t be made in time to get back out tomorrow I’m in Darwin for the weekend.

Small chance they’ll send me back to Sydney to see an orthopaedic surgeon.

See him again 10.30 tomorrow morning and find out the decision.

Yup. If I get sent home then I’ll lose wages (as I’m out of sick leave) or owe more days. But if I head back offshore from here, it’s all on them

More importantly, how's the injury feeling Kiwi.?
Does it seem to be improving, and are you more confident that you can cope with it.?

It’s completely fine mate, a slight bit of discomfort if I purposely lock my leg straight but other than that, no niggles at all. Stairs aren’t bothering me and I’ve walked over 5 km today with no issue

I got cleared by the company doc and was waiting on travel details to go back out offshore, then some ConocoPhillips health manager/doctor in Singapore has reviewed my case and has overruled both my doctor and the company doctor clearance and has told them to send me home for a week.

And then be cleared by my doctor. Who cleared me last Saturday.

I asked how that is helpful or what is going to determine if I’m fit as my knee can’t get any better because there is nothing f**king wrong with it.

Wouldn’t care if I had sick leave but I’m f**king ready to punch someone now

Not good Kiwi. It's all about insurance these days and they are so fearful of something happening to you and then being blamed. It's wrong, as it drives people to hide injures but that's how it is now unfortunately.

Try and put it behind you and focus on having some good family fun with Jess and the kids for a week.

Head-cold. So I'm stuffed full of meds in a conscious effort to at least get a little buzz going.
This had better work.

It seems entirely possible, from this remote perspective, that the decision from management at head office may not have been based on medical grounds.

I’d like to think not St Marks but at least that would make some sense

I think it’s just a big arse covering exercise tbh but who the f**k knows.

It is what it is and I can’t control it so I’ve let it go.
Thought I better practice my own advice I gave out a few days ago on this forum (lol) couple of happy hour ciders helped the perspective.

I've lost my voice. While most people who know me think that this is actually a pretty good thing, I've got to admit my throat is fecking killing me at the moment.
I'd laugh it off, but when I try to I sound like a dolphin.

Got an appointment with my GP this afternoon about my stress levels. I'm hoping to get signed off for a week so I can take a break from work.

Look after yourself,Kwacky. Your health and family are more important than anything else. Shout if you need someone to vent at. I’m all ears if needs be.
