Damn, I tried (and failed) to load a busted bike onto a trailer with a broken rib, then drive home afterwards and it all hurt, getting out of the van was a solid 7 on the pain scale, whilst laughing about the crash responsible for aforesaid busted rib that evening resulted in the worst pain of all.
Riding with 4 broken ribs, and badly bruised back and pelvis is on another level imho.

Nice commute this morning. Clear blue skies, nice temperature, surprising lack of Muppets on the road..

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
It appears to be angry triumph rider day.
I had a new Scrambler holding me up as he stayed in lane 2 of an A road. I got bored so undertook him and cleared off. About 5 miles later he caught up with me at a set of lights on roundabout and tore off like he was on fire. I know that road has a couple of unmarked police cars so I stayed legal but still caught up with him about a mile down the road. Again he was in lane 2 of two. I was sat in lane 1 and just off his shoulder. A 1050 sprint with panniers comes screaming inbetween us but then clocks there are two cars ahead and he can't squeeze past. Up to another roundabout and I'm in a left turn filter lane at traffic lights behind Sprint Guy who is behind a car. Lights change, we all pull away but Sprint guy stays behind the car so I swing past overtake him and barrel into a small roundabout which I've used for 10 years so know how to take it quickly. Sprint guy gives chase, realises it's a tight one, drops back then in a 30mph zone pins the throttle to catch me up and overtake me. Only to be stuck behind a car. We both turn right at the next round about into the business park and our commute is done as he turns right before I have to turn into work.

If he's going to insist on riding with panniers on I'll lose him within 250 yards of where we work. The traffic around here is unbelievably bad.

Sounds like he needs to learn how to take that bit of road, think you may find he will practice and a rematch will be on the table soon

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Took the GB for a run into town, found the edge of the front tyre on the way down the hill, little chattering slide in a hairpin reminded me than this isn’t a sports bike and I probably shouldn’t throw it down the hill like one!!
Got home and had about 20 mins till I had to go about 4 km down the hill for a parent/teacher interview at my daughters school. So thought, I’m all kitted out so might just head down on the bike again.
So off down my very steep road, turn the corner and the bike dies. Now I’ve done 200 km on that tank (and I’ve never hit reserve before, always topped it up) so I guess it needs to go onto reserve. Though it didn’t splutter and miss like a fuel starve, just stopped dead. On reserve and I couldn’t restart it. Rolled it down the road I’d just turned up and still no go. So at this stage I’ve got 10 mins to make the interview. So I push the bike (which for a 400 is bloody heavy) up my insanely steep hill. Leave it on the driveway, and jump on the Multi and make the interview 2 mins late.
Haven’t had a chance to look over the GB yet and hope it is something simple. But pushing the bike up the hill had left me with a heap of nerve pain and very numb hands tonight so not looking forward to how I’ll feel tomorrow.
