People who take about 14 hours to decide what they want at a fast food place. Is this your first time eating in a McDonalds? Ever???
I just about had to order a pizza to be delivered while I waited.

Nightshift and insomnia
Latest I have slept to after going to bed at 11pm is 230am and it's been a week now and it's staring to really hurt
And I'm more stupid than normal too
Feel like a zombie with a hangover most of the time.

It's horrible when you're tired all the time. It feels like you've had a few beers without the benefits.

That doesn't sound good Blade. You need to have a break and rest!

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Blade I had the same problem after a swing of nights, went 10 days with 3-4 hours sleep max. Go get some over the counter sleeping tablets. The ones I use are called restivat but it's just doxylamime succinate 25 mg. I take one for the first 3 nights off swing and I'm usually right by then. Without them it takes me 5-6 days to swing back. I don't have that luxury now, ex gives me 3 nights then I have the kids full time.

Just remember that alcohol disrupts your sleep. The key is to do as little as possible a couple of hours before sleep if you're struggling. No phone, no laptop, light reading or crappy TV - the sort of stuff you don't have to think about - and no exercise. Avoid caffeine as well.
A hot bath is good for relaxing you before you go to bed, as is lavender oil in the bedroom.
Trying to clear your mind is the hardest part. Get yourself comfortable then imagine you're lying on a warm beach, with the sound of the sea gently lapping against the shore in the background, with no other sounds. Imagine that you can feel the warmth of the sun on you as you drift off to sleep.
It sounds corny but it works. It's a well practised stage 1 hypnosis method.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Cheers kwacky will give those techniques a try.
To explain my problem is not getting to sleep tbh it's getting back to sleep. I typically wake about 2am and my mind becomes active and then I can't get back to sleep. The more I can't sleep the more I get annoyed and the more awake I become. Horrible circle of events.
I normally get up and watch some recorded bike racing as the noise of the engine and easy watching tend to relax me and I drift of on the couch but even struggling with that recently.
If it happens again tonight I'm going to try a hot milly chocolate with brandy and reading a book to relax. Never normally read books but believe it can be good to relax the mind which is what I need.

I don't suppose a spliff and knocking one out in the living room is a viable option?

I have heard that works quite well
