Yep that't them, didn't take too long really between rain showers. Hopefully I will get an evening thrash to test it out and hope again that it has worked.
On the plus side I have found a local wheel refurbishing company who do diamond cutting on motorbike wheels, not that that's my thing but it means they have a lathe that can handle the job of squaring up the disc mounting face.

Tried to fix the puncture in the Versys but it's having none of it. Looks like it's a new tyre job. June is already expense for a host of reasons so that'll have to wait.

Any use pulling the tyre off and using a mushroom plug from the inside? Not a permanent repair I know, but it’ll get you mobile until next month and take the commuting load off the AT.

Front or rear? I have a 120/70/17 that's just taking up space.

It's still bloody cold on the commute. I might put my liners back in my trousers

Lovely commute in this morning. Sunny, warm, little traffic.
Then holiday brain. Usual routine of getting the backpack out of the top box, disk lock, then forgot to take the key out the ignition. It stayed there all day
Commute home was crap, A34 North was closed and South bound was stuffed with slow moving traffic for about 10 miles.. combined with 21 degrees it was a bit uncomfortable.
Still, Friday tomorrow so hopefully better on the roads.

Leaving a key in was my favourite trick. You pull up, turn the key to off then get distracted by something.
Now I get off the bike with the engine running. Steering lock it then take the key out. Letting the bike idle for a minute after a ride isn't a bad habit and my method means you always remember to take the key out.

Time for a change in routine I think. Probably doesn't help that I put my lid over the key while I'm sorting stuff out. Saves putting it on the ground and the satnav mount stops it falling.

Put a big sticker on your desk to remind you. That way if you forget it's only minutes before you realise and go back for it.

They would start the bike at home, forget the key and get stranded at workD6 wrote:Or buy a keyless bike

Threw the AT about through the traffic like it was a 250cc. How I didn't hit anything I'll never know. Some nights I do ride like a twat.

Installed a USB charging point and tested out long distance touring mode..
I'm very tempted to get a 5L tank bag for all the little bits like paper work, wallet, etc..

Standby... I remembered that I had an old tankbag I've had the years (found some tankslap cards from 2009 in it
)
It's only magnetic.. problem solved, touring mode upgraded.
