Re: What you watching?
Fair play to Lewis Hamilton.
Penalised for a racing incident and still came back and won.

Doesn’t sound like Verstappen is taking it too well.

Re: What you watching?
Racing incident. Hamilton was poking around looking for a gap... didn't find one and backed off, but didn't back off quite enough. Poor judgement, but not poor sportsmanship.

Re: What you watching?
Hamilton didn't back off. That's the issue. But neither did Max, who turned across Hamilton expecting Hamilton to give way. He didn't.
Max does it all the time. This time it didn't work and he's upset.

Re: What you watching?
Two sides to every coin,,, and I dare say everyone will have their reasons for siding with their chosen party in this case..?
Me.?
Well, fwiw I'm on Hamilton's side. ; I got Black flagged at Donington for undertaking an RSV mille that had been blocking me for almost a whole lap. He had more top end for the straights & took a wide slow line across every corner. In the end I sat on his tail until that last l/h corner before the start/finish straight, where I tucked in tight.
I admit my "sphincter went a little" as my peripheral vision had his wide entry tightening in towards me, unlike Max the Aprilia backed off
My relief was short lived, with lots of frantic flag waving & pointing.
And then the lectures..
-In fact if you ask me, Lewis should have been pleased that he just got the 10 seconds & not the lectures

Re: What you watching?
I'm sure Lewis was over the moon with a 10 second penalty, a stop and go would have cost him the race.

Re: What you watching?
Any other racing driver would be thrilled with a 10 second penalty.. somehow, Lewis exudes an aura of the world owing him everything and I doubt he was pleased with the penalty.
As for the racing incident, I've not seen it yet but from what I've read above, Max was trying his luck and Lewis was trying his. Lewis won this time.

Re: What you watching?
If they want drivers to race each other then there will be occasional incidents.
So many people stopped watching F1 because the drivers didn’t want to take risks. We now have two who are quite prepared to do so. To then penalise one for doing just that seems like nonsense to me.

Re: What you watching?
Don't get me wrong, if it's a racing incident no one should be penalised but if they deemed Lewis to be in the wrong then he was lucky with 10 seconds.
IMO, a drive through rather than a stop & go would be a more acceptable punishment for someone at fault... or a joker lap like in GP

Re: What you watching?
10 seconds is the standard penalty for that incident. Max has had it served on him a few times.

"The Beast Must Die"
Weird. Not great by any stretch, but better than I thought it would be.... a bit "soapy" though.
