Washed and polished with an ACF-50 top-up. Looks great to me and I freed off one mirror adjuster which had stuck solid, you know it's serious when It has to be clamped in a bench vise.

New front Metzeler Z8 fitted to the Multi.
Well it will be when I refit the front wheel.
Was looking at the Rosso Corsa 2 tyres on the shelf at Addisons. You can feel the difference in compound from the Diablo Rosso 3 just be running your fingers along the tread. Very similar profiles though.

I took the long way home. There were some ice patches as well as mud on the roads which wasn't much fun. On the plus side I found that the Honda rides better in those conditions when you're more on the pegs leaning forward than sat in the seat.

The Multi is a bit like that. Want to press on and its best getting weight over the front wheel so you can feel what's happening better.
Just got the front wheel refitted.

That'll be why you couldn't feel anything... you didn't have anything to feel!!!

Glad we got to the bottom of that one!

Finding low speed manoeuvring on the AT a lot more comfortable (easier) if I shift forward as well.
Do you have a centre stand for the AT? I didn’t bother and was going to get paddock stand / ABBA?

I went for the centre stand. I thought with the bike being so tall and heavy that getting it off a paddock stand would be a PITA. Plus it's easier to change the tube on the rear if you get a flat on the road.

Been playing with getting a lift for garage, but never thought about the changing tubes aspect. Might have to re-assess, or check breakdown cover???

Feck me it was cold this morning. 0 degrees according to the bike but it felt colder than that.
The TC did it's work this morning. I had a couple of unexpected big slides on ice.

We're you on the AT?
Bet that's a handful if it skids

Yep. The Versys doesn't have any electronic aids on it apart from ABS.
The AT is fine when it slides, it does it in a predictable and gentle manner. I guess it's designed that way for when you take it off road.

Yeah makes sense when you say that.
I was just thinking tall, heavy and skinny off-road tyres didn't sound much fun on ice

It's all fun so long as you remain upright

Am I right in thinking skinny tyres and heavy bike is a better scenario than light bike with wide tyres? More chance of breaking the crust so to speak

I would agree in snow but not sure on ice tbh, and I was thinking if it does go a tall heavy bike will be harder to try and maintain an upright balance.
Either way I would be in the car with the heating on and a nice cup of coffee

Oh yes, very sensible, comfortable, economical and practical with it's panniers on... Until it get's above 7K rpm then it's a batshit crazy missile with good handling, really good brakes (Brembo M50's on large discs) and an induction roar that makes me smile every time.
I might try it with the traction control off when it warms up a bit, anti-wheelie is part of that on the GT, separate on the SDR.
