If you're into aeroplanes & stuff, there's a great lecture on YouTube..."Myths of the Luftwaffe". ...it's worth a watch, as the guy really knows his subject matter without getting into minutiae.Jack wrote:Due to the lockdown quite a few University lecturers are posting stuff up on Youtube , I have been following a series of lectures about Naval history 1920 - 1960 by Dr Alexander Clarke , and some cosmology stuff from Sean Carroll called The Biggest Ideas In The Universe

No you'd have the Pink Floyd concert from the 70's - this was in 2016 and defo not on VHS He did do a lot of Floyd classics - 2.5hrs of brilliance. Really enjoyed it. Have been watching a few. Re: What you watching?
Gilmour sold a bunch of his guitars a while back. His black Stratocaster sold for 3 or 4 million $$$. That's just frickin' mental.
Or maybe that was for all of them...I forget. Either way that's an insane amount of money for some old guitars.

It is quite a guitar. If it's his black one he uses it a lot in the 2016 concert - he makes it sing.D41 wrote:Gilmour sold a bunch of his guitars a while back. His black Stratocaster sold for 3 or 4 million $$$. That's just frickin' mental.

He sold most of his guitars to raise money for charity and force him to use new ones. He was using that Strat since the 70's all the way through Pink Floyd - serious history. Saying that i wouldnt pay that for it

Yeah..I suppose. I'm guessing it was the one he did Dark Side Of The Moon with, in which case it almost makes sense.
I'd have to look it up, TBH. A lot of those famous guitars end up having been passed around and/or sold by other musicians. Steve Jones white Les Paul was originally stolen from Peter Frampton, or some other numbnuts. Then sold by Jones when he was broke. Then bought back years later.
I think Slash' famous "Appetite For Destruction" LP Standard is actually one of three that were built up for him.
