Watching a news report about a man in France who accidentally ejected himself from a fighter jet after being given the ride as a surprise gift.
Apparently this happened @ a year ago, but the report has just been published/made public.

Ejected.
From a fighter jet.
By mistake.

That is probably the best story I've ever heard.

We had a pilot jettison his canopy by accident on a twin seater Skyhawk during his check out flight to go solo. The drill he was suppose to be completing was deploying his emergency air ram generator for a electrical power failure. The handles were close to each other, but not a mistake an experienced pilot should make. He still managed to land it ok, I was on flightline duties and dispatched him for that flight.
