Re: The new improved fitness thread
No real problem there, it's my cardio that gives me issues and that's not been helped with recent events.Kwacky wrote:How did the joints hold up?

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I think I wore myself out in my 20's and 30's.
Time in the armed forces, a life time of hard physical work, exercise and crazy challenges mixed with lots of running, heavy weights and plenty of heavy drinking and smoking has burnt me out early.
Compared to the wife who has always worked in an office never been keen on sport or exercise, she is like brand new with no aches, niggles, complaints or old injuries to haunt her.
If we were cars I would have been round the clock a few times, ragged of the limiter everywhere and badly serviced and the missus would be like a low mileage one careful owner micra

The amount of drink and drugs I put through my system from my mid teens for about 10 years means any day I can take myself to the toilet is a blessing.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I've been focusing on Cardio mainly, weights twice a week cardio 3-5 times a week.
Yesterday I did a 25 minute run, 15 minute cycle and a mile swim. Felt great afterwards.
Going to hit legs hard tomorrow but tonight will be a 'pull' session

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Aha.. why were you at school at 21?
I used to cycle 6 miles to school, half of that was up a massive hill and thankfully the other half was going down it again. I got pulled over by the police once for doing an alleged 45mph in a 30mph zone

Been for a 4 mile run this morning.
Eaten too much, drunk too much and feel like a barrage balloon.
Put 5lbs on in two weeks.

Gym is shut today due to a problem with the water. So I'll sit and eat all day.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Shook my body firmly out of son mode this morning with a 10 mile trail run.
There where some serious hills and it was very windy. I'm fecking knackered now, but feeling good.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I gave myself Christmas day and Boxing day to eat all the crap I could consume. Yesterday was back to normality with my diet and exercise regime.
Yesterday was a simple 10 minutes of cardio before legs (squats, weighted lunges, calf raises, leg extensions) then a short cycle to ease the fatigue before a 30 minute swim. Legs don't feel too bad today.
Today I did 10 minutes cardio before shoulders (arnold press single arm, lateral raises, front delt raises, behind and infront of head shoulder press, cable head pulls)
Feels good to be getting back into things

Back into my own routine followed by some hamstring exercises. It's going to take a while to get some flexibility in this old body.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Ha ha I agree with your earlier post Kwacky, I can put myself in that group...... So much abuse, but hey we are only here once, would not miss it for the world.
Back to my basics now on the fitness front , but I do have to cut back on cake and other such foods, it's not doing me any favours at all.
So I need to find something else to burn fat.
