Thanks for your comments folks , appreciated
... Honestly for me and maybe because I've done that sort of route many times it's not something I'd call epic or awesome ... It could be called stupid when your literally miles from anyone ,anywhere , on your own with zero phone signal .... but then I've never been that sensible

Took the front calipers off the 748. Cleaned them up and removed the old lines in readiness for the new ones.
Might look at replacing some caliper bolts whilst its apart.

Yesterday I went out for a mad hour lol.... popped into Bull Dog Triumph for a quick look at the 1200 Tiger... nice machine, worth a test ride in the New Year.

That situation is exactly why I’ve decided against getting the WR450F. If it was just me it’d be ok, but if I get stuck out in the bush there would be no one at home for the kids once they finish school. I do miss trail riding though.Scuff wrote:Thanks for your comments folks , appreciated... Looks like a good ride mate, I must admit I though it was sand when I first saw it. The only time I see snow is if I drive south for hours and put on some skis!

fitted new clip-ons, QAT, changed rear wheel bearings, cleaned chain, fitted lever guards, bled brakes and fitted some engine protectors.
fairings are away being lacquered so figured i'd have a play with it and give it a clean up.
I've a pair of forks to strip on a ktm off roader tomorrow to strip and service.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Trail riding alone is not something I do very often but I feel safer doing it if I'm more local as there's usually someone about when riding the Peak district , not ideal but sometimes it's the only way to get out .... All them deadly spiders and snakes would put me off riding the Bush not the riding alonekiwikrasher wrote:

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Popped to my local Ktm dealers and bought a rear 17" tube which is another piece in the 'moto conversion .
Im still thinking about changing the 950 sm so called at the Triumph dealers while I was passing as I wanted to try the tiger 800 roadie version for size and sort of ruled it out as I still prefer the XC version for fit .... The 21" front wheel is what puts me off the XC though
Popped around the corner to the Bmw dealers ... I can see a Gs in my future but a lottery win might be needed

Fitted the lap timer, struggling to find a good place for it but managed to use the bolt that holds the tank down to fix the bracket. You can see the extra sensor for lean angle and g force etc.

I checked the Versys over, cleaned and lubed the chain then adjusted it. That chain is stiffer than a stag on Viagra in a Czech whore house.

Ride out down to Midhurst with the Triumph Bull Dog crew.... very chilly, much fun was had by all.
With Breakfast at the departure Lounge in Alton first.
Role on spring, saying that there were loads of groups out on the road today.

Cleaned it then cleaned it again. ACF'd the metal bits, cleaned the brake discs, waxed the wheels and lubed the chain. All ready for spring now

Not surprised there where plenty out today, was a really nice day (if you've got proper winter gear)Frankie wrote:Ride out down to Midhurst with the Triumph Bull Dog crew.... very chilly, much fun was had by all.

Shame I couldn't get out.

There was frost on the roads near me until mid afternoon. No way I was going out.
