I watched a BBC documentary about James Hunt and Niki Lauda and the season Lauda had his accident.
I've seen it before but it continues to amaze me that we had drivers like that. Hunt was the rich, well spoken and handsome playboy. Everything an F1 driver should be. Lauda was almost mechanical.
To think he spent several days close to death, with damaged lungs and covered in burns only to race a few weeks after his accident. That's an incredible achievement. Lauda said he concentrated on voices around him to make sure his brain didn't switch off, as he fought against wanting to sleep which he knew he wouldn't wake up from.
James Hunt said to Lauda "you're the only bloke I know who can have his face burnt off and come out better looking"

I was watching Up last night. The beginning part is always upsetting. But feel asleep on the sofa while watching it.

Yeah, I agree. That's a very special piece of animation.

The latest Gotham.
It's good but they're changing some of the back stories. I'm not keen on the idea of Batman and Catwoman being childhood friends.

About 20 wild turkeys in a field, took some iPhone pics which I'll try to post once near wifi. On my annual deer hunting trip, but not seen any yet. No worries, just the first day.

"The Monuments Men".....pretty good movie about the Allied soldiers/scholars who went right up to the front lines trying to rescue caches of artwork from the retreating Germans and the advancing Russians.....Damon & Clooney, so you know it can't be that bad.

Lone survivor, been a good film but been watching in parts now at the ending. Really shows what these guys can get themselves into in such a small space of time

Watched Gravity last night, enjoyed that. There were a couple of bits in it where I could picture my missus gasping (she does it whenever something untoward might happen on TV), then realised I was curling my own toes unconsciously!

Good film, we all watched it together and yes - she was gasping and had her hand over her face at times, a lot of her friends didn't like it though, Mrs Gee and I loved it, but there weren't enough explosions etc for mini gee.

You'll enjoy the third one too, just back from it, not a bad watch, but it does leave you wishing Part 2 wasn't a year away...
