Cartoon HD has mysteriously started working again, so I spent most of the weekend watching Frozen AGAIN!
On the plus side it means I can watch the last series of Game of Thrones

Toast of London. I mentioned Matt Berry in D41s thread about comics. He's very under rated.
Last night's was about a Celebs v Prostitutes Blow Football charity match

The passing bells . About the great war. It's still astounding to think how we managed to cock up so much in a relatively small space of time.

Lot of misconceptions about The Great War.....not suggesting you have any, Ross.
But the troops did not live for years in those trenchs or nowt like that....they were rotated out every few weeks for a new regiment. Disease was rife, but nothing like it is portrayed in popular history....it is very much the forgotten war.

]Ross, if you ever get the chance to visit the WW1 battlefields then take it.
I have read loads about it over the years but nothing brings it quite home like visiting the memorials and cemeteries in France or Belgium.
The stopover at Ypres on our Euro trip this year was my first ever visit and the scale of the death and destruction is quite horrifying. Pretty much every village has a cemetery for WW1 around Ypres, not every town but every village and so many of the graves are marked as 'Unknown' .
Truly did bring a tear to my eye. It will certainly make Remembrance Sunday even more poignant this weekend.

My Nans Brother is buried in Wimereux town cemetery, along with another 50-100 soldiers, he died of Typhoid in a hospital just outside Boulogne in 1916 - he was a gardener, we traced and visited the grave some 15yrs back. The cemeteries in the region are heartbreaking.

I'm not expert by any means but I was taught about these wars as a kid. visited a lot of museums and even now try to if I see a opportunity. I visited Germany and there was a memorial there when I was 18. This was a second world war memorial and a lot of them were paratroopers. I can see what you mean by it was hard to swallow brought tears to my eyes too.

I took the kids to see The Maze Runner. Not a bad film. It's similar to the Hunger Games - a bunch of kids need to survive in an artificial and hostile environment.

Ok, it's finished now but did anyone see Detectorists on BBC4. It amused me and I would recommend watching it if it comes on again.

It has the comedian kid in it from Britains got talent. I don't think the role in Trollied is doing him justice. Think D41 should take this kid under his wing [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

It's had some decent actors in it, including Adeel Akhtar who was in Four Lions and Utopia.
"So how did you disguise the fact you weren't a terrorist looking to build to a bomb?"
"I used my IRA voice".

He was the meat and fish guy! Brilliant. Me and my girlfriend generally don't watch an aweful lot of tell but it was watched by my girlfriends parents and she got into it and then got me into it. Very funny story lines
