Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Nah, Aussie does Duke. New South Wales state elections. Though she’ll get in I wouldn’t vote for her in a million years. F**kng current Liberals pushed through a development to replace a historical bridge over our local river to a higher one in the same spot. Council and majority of locals wanted a by pass bridge further down stream and maintain the historical bridge and the oldest town square in Australia it passes through. But the Libs just steam rolled the process and are currently demolishing and covering up historically rare brick barrel drains and storm culverts to put their preferred bridge in. Has transpired that the real motivation was to get the low old bridge out so they can sell sand mining rights upstream that till now hasn’t been accessible.duke63 wrote:NZ gets penthouse pets to vote for....

In the meantime India has developed technology to shoot down satelites.

I do hope the £150m foreign aid donation we send them each year helps them with their expenses

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
It's now called "technical assistance". There was an aid commission review about it. So yes, technically we do not give direct aid to India by way of a cash sum. But they still get millions from us.Monty wrote:I thought we stopped Indian foreign aid in 2015

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Why?? Seriously....why would the UK be sending aid to a country that has about 20 times it's own population. That doesn't make any sense. There has to be some "tier" of internal wealth in India that can be trickled down to the pions??

It's a bung. We give them foreign aid and in return they buy goods or weapons or something along those lines.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Trump is a dick. Aside from Iran, he is also falling out with a Country that holds $1.13 trillion of US debt. That's nearly a third of all US external debt.
If China wanted to pull the plug tomorrow on future borrowing the USA would be bankrupt and run out of money.
