I looked at them. They're the same price as Addison Tyres.

The P4s aren't coming in much cheaper.

I may as well bite the bullet and get the 01s.

What's the wear rate like on the front? I've found with the SX both tyres tend to wear at the same rate.

Kept the front on. Seems still good so far. Tread is really deep so lasts well. Just the profile on front is a bit flatter compared to new rear

I'm getting the heavier model for touring bikes. It's also a run flat apparently.

I rode with the rear at 7psi. Prettymuch flat. Felt terrible but was able to ride to a garage and pump it back up

Had a pair fitted today. I've not done many miles yet and having replaced a well worn set of Z8s it's hard to compare.

The profile as mentioned is much flatter. There is less road noise from them. I've got the full touring tyre which has the stiffer carcass. They do get some heat in them quicker than the Z8s but initial thoughts about grip are that they're not far apart.

I'll know more when I've put some miles on them.

If the rear is stiffer, Kwacky.. it might be worth dropping the pressure slightly to ensure you get the same contact patch > friction > heat

The profile is flatter than the z8 so I don't think there's an issue.

The pressure in is recommended by Metzeler

I've not struggled with grip any more than usual for this time of year. No spin ups yet.

Pussy..

It was quite funny last night. I attempted to go round a roundabout at a speed which no one would deem as fast. The front just kept going straight. Straightened the wheels and reduced throttle then the back comes round on me so I put more throttle on in an attempt to make the front (which is now heading towards the inside curb of the roundabout) slide back onto line. It didn't work - I bumped both wheels on the roundabout. After that I thought it was all sorted but no, the front slides wide again. WTF!!!!

If I was in the fiesta I'd have drifted the majority of the roundabout with actual opposite lock but no.. this damn Audi just wants to play games as if it's a mid-engine car

I span the Z8s up a couple of weeks ago on purpose to see how greasy the roads were and how the traction control did. It didn't take much.

I found the inline 4s spin up SO much easier than the twins.. I don't know if it's due to the larger time period between engine pulses allowing the tyre to recover.

I'll still manage to go just as quick in the wet as I would in the dry though. Not sure if that's something to be proud of or not haha

These do have more grip than the Z8s. It was warmer this morning so I got on the gas a bit quicker. They've been pretty solid so far.

The warmer weather makes a world of difference.

I knocked the traction down to level 2 and gave these some straight line stick. No spin up and no traction light on when I gave it some throttle. Not enough gas to lift the front though as it's still greasy out there and the roads are cold.

Hard braking gives loads of feedback and no slide.

Considering it's winter the chicken strips aren't looking too bad. I can't wait to give these some stick on warmer and cleaner roads.
