Hope for the best, plan for the worst! I'm also now not worried about stone chips or scuffs it might pick up and I've got a mint set of plastics to put back on come selling time. I also want to do Oulton a few times this year and while no one intends to drop their bike I've seen enough bikes in the pits there with serious gravel rash to know that it is a possibility!

Wise move Andy, work on the premise that it'll happen and hopefully it won't*. Fwiw I worked on the principle that I didn't take a bike or kit on track I couldn't afford to trash.

*It's the umbrella rule, if you've got one with you chances are it won't rain, if you don't it'll chuck it down and you get soaked.

Bought a load of parts from eBay, which it didn't do correctly (I used the basket) and it duplicated, so I'm now begging 6 vendors for a refund.

I hate eBay but it's useful sadly. Crappy eBay app :(

Tyres are arriving in about an hour and I've picked up some nuts, bolts and washers today for the final touches on the brakes - then I just need to assemble it all and bleed the system.

I won't be putting in the new pads until my first trackday though - dual carbon on the road in the cold weather is not going to be great.

Thanks StM. I have been having a mooch on .cc but seem to have timed it badly as everything I want is sold lol. Hopefully as the weather improves more bikers will be coming put to play and selling stuff. Ebay has almost nothing for the mk.2. If you spot a cheap arrow or austin racing exhaust before me give me a shout thanks. Did you ever find the thread about how the Triumph crash protection is no good? To my untrained eye I can't see what's wrong with them!

Not my bike but there must be some amazing roads around these parts. Last night I was out on the balcony and listening to bikes and some beasty sounding cars around us, it sounded amazing . This morning I have seen and heard handful of bikers out and saw 2 together (what looked like ducati 899 and a ZX10R out for a blast...I wish we had the same sort of weather around our areas I am so very jealous of these guys!! The roads seem very smooth as well by the looks of things/ hearing of things haha!!

Finally completed the fitting the Corse rearsets on the 748.

Need a shakedown run tomorrow to ensure the gears are changing OK as i am not convinced they are at the moment.

Would the length of the gear lever linkage make any difference to the ability to change up and down the box? Can't see why it would as i thought it only changes the angle position of the lever in relation to the footpeg.

Ish. The length of the linkage rod dictates the angle of the foot lever and gearbox actuation lever to that rod, on some bikes if the angles are not at or near 90° It doesn't transfer enough leverage or travel to make the gear change, it's especially crucial to get the lengths and angles right if you've got a pressure type quickshifter fitted or it won't shift due to incorrect loadings on the sensor, they can be fairly sensitive. Hth.

TBH i wasn't sure. There is no quickshifter so thats not an issue but i was trying to count the changes up the box, changing by hand and it wouldn't go past 5, or at least didn't appear to. That said i didn't have the engine running and there is no gear indicator.

Will try it later on the road and take some spanners out with me.

The gear changing is perfect up and down the box. Still the sweetest gear chnage i have ever used.

Saw my first Ninja H2 on the road this morning.

Followed me from Shifnal to the Bridgnorth Rd and then i suspect he truned off toward Quatt. Was hoping he would hoon past me but he stayed behind the whole time ( or in my dreams couldn't stay with me :D ). Looked brand spanking new.

Some twat on an R1-M tore past us both through a narrow railway bridge and hared off into the distance, i suspect hoping we would take the bait but neither of us did. I can see him being an early statistic if he carries on riding like that.
