Re: What are you doing today ??
Just done the first coat of paint in the study/bedroom. Now off to Wickes for more paint before heading off to the wilds of Kings Heath to celebrate big Pete's end of university finals and his daughter's first birthday. Off to a gig in Snotihull tonight. This is looking like a good Bank Holiday Sunday (I'm tivo-ing the WSB so I'll catch up with that at some point too).

He's said that and I've never expected anything too. I'm not a fan of inheritance anyway, makes people lazy and wait for parents / granny to die etc. you earnt it, you spend it.StMarks wrote:Sounds like you got some great genes there Cookie.
Good on him too, better spending it enjoying life than leaving any of it to his wayward son.
I do think you should leave a will especially if you die while your kids are not old enough to make their own way in life. I'll help my kids with time and effort.
Anything that's left should go to charities IMO, not the government either.

There is definitely life after surgery, I know. I've got a good friend I used to co-own a boat with, we sailed for 15yrs together and he had regular massive back pain during that time, it got to the point where he couldn't live with the pain any more and had 3 vertebrae fused, he lost nearly an inch in height and had less flexibility as Cookie mentioned, but he's been free of pain for over 10yrs.
Stupidly he injured his back getting into a car originally when he was 20, it can happen so easily it's scary.

Sorry to hear this mate sounds horrendous. What is the way forward ? Any further forward with a diagnosis ?Kwacky wrote:Headaches have never gone away but they did back off quite a lot. Until about two weeks ago when they've really kicked off. Thursday's was the best yet, one I call the "San Diego" as I had two mirrored headaches either side of my head, like the Chargers helmet.
Shoulder is alright but is always going to be weak.
Thanks for asking.

Nothing at present. It's a case of them not being able to find a cause so I'm stuck with them.

Don't give up mate. For what its worth it took me 5 years to get the correct diagnosis for my back. I told plenty of Doctors they were wrong along the way which they didn't appreciate one bit but some were big enough to be humble and eventually admit they were wrong and I was right. Don't get me wrong I m not gloating that I was right and they were wrong just that they don't know everything and sometimes you have to keep on at them.Kwacky wrote:Nothing at present. Good luck mate and I hope you eventually find the cause and the solution.

Sounds like Blade's is a little more serious than mine. Mines a muscle pull and its the 4th one I've had this year.Stew wrote:''Hooked up to a tens machine and smacked up on two different types of prescription pain killers as pulled my back late last night. Wow, looks like its catching, not much fun though, beer helps apparently
Its like the exercises they have given me just masks the pull and its ready to go again at any time.
Been lying flat all day ... I've tried different exercises taken off t'internet. Had a bag of frozen peas on my back, a hot bath and heat patches .... its getting easier

Re: What are you doing today ??
Another day of doing the house up. So far (with a bit of help from a mate) I've done a second coat in the study/bedroom, treated a bit of mould in the bathroom and filled a couple of cracks/dents in the plater and put a first coat of paint. Also stripped the anaglypta down to the backing paper on the stairs and bought some floor paint for the study. This afternoon I'm going to move some things around the lounge to enable me to strip the wallpaper tomorrow and then spend the rest of the day getting rid of the clutter in my bedroom (the only room that hasn't had that completed yet). Still a ton of work to do before the house is ready, but I'm still on my (self-imposed) target.
