Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Had a gentle bimble round the Cotswolds and apparently got a less than impressed look from a copper when I went passed.
Didn't get a chance to clean it though so it's going to bug me until I get the time now.

I think Godzilla has done more to his bike today than I've done in a year

Washed it. Used the last of my can of chain cleaner, a brass bristled brush and some elbow grease to attack the embarrassment of a chain sitting on the bike.
Then when that came up short I used a Dremel on it!

Aside from the fact this is a 916, this is the sort of look i am aiming at with mine.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Found out what the bike sounds like when the slipper clutch kicks in.
Came up to a roundabout. As I'm slowing down there's a car in front. There's a good gap in the traffic, the car goes to move forward but stops, so I swing round and give it some beans. Unfortunately this puts me on the hatched area which is full of crap. The wheels spin and the bike shakes but the slipper clutch seems to have saved the day.

The Cat and Fiddle. Meeting in Mac and would have been rude not to.
Think I've found the limit of these SCs in the wet and cold though. Sideways in a hairpin at 20 miles per hour!

@ Blade, I dont need a spring compressor for these forks.
@ Kwacky - I didnt think a slipper clutch does anything under acceleration ("gave it the beans"), I thought they worked under braking and downchanging to stop the rear wheel locking up?

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
You might be right. All I know is the rear span up but the bike quickly settled down. I didn't do anything so presumed the slipper kicked in. I'm not very technical so I'll bow to your knowledge.

I wished I'd cleaned it yesterday.. It's looking dirty sat there in the shed, at least I'm working in Southampton tomorrow so won't have to see it...
