Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Really struggled this morning with grip.
I think I picked up some diesel on the tyres. I was taking a left and both the front and the back span up. The traction control earned its money as the bike was going sideways, speedway style.
A couple of times after that the bike really was loose on the road. I know it was raining but the M5s still have some life left in them.
I checked the front when I got off and there looked like there was some oil or something like that on it. I might take it to the local car wash and jet wash the tyres before I ride home.

Carefuel with high pressure jet washing you could possible force the oil molecules deeper into the rubber. Not scientific just a theory which could quite possibly be rubbish.
I would give them a good rinse and strap some towelling over the effected area. Hopefully the water will lift the oil off the tyre and be absorbed by the towelling or whatever absorbing fabric you can get your hands on in work.
Long shot but might work.

The local jet wash is really good. You pay per minute and can choose what you want coming out, so I can do 30 secs of foam, which should lift off the crap then switch to water to rinse it off. The power is controlled by the handle so you can reduce the pressure to a gentle misting.

Sounds good.
How worn are the tyres. They do degrade early in my experience with Pirelli / Metzler.
When the Rosso Corsa were down to about 2 - 2.5mm in the centre they would spin up in top gear on the motorway in the damp conditions.

They're getting near the end of their life cycle. I reckon I've got no more than 1,000 miles on them. I've done over 3,000 which is pretty good.

Handling still felt shite, almost like I had a flat tyre.
Checked the pressures and the front was a little low at 32 but I've lived with worse.
Time for some new tyres.
It's supposed to rain for the rest of the week so I've swapped the bikes over as the zx6r has the M7rr tyres on it and they're in good nick.

32 should be fine. Admittedly in the dry but I normally run 32/36 on the road.
What you fancy sticking on the SX ?

No idea mate. I'm happy trying tyres. PR4 or Angels are on the short list. Or I could go M7rr to see what they're like on a big bike.

I would be interested to hear your comments on the m7rr on a big bike if you go that way.
