I'm just waiting for the will of the people to demand a re count or ask for another GE cos they didnt get the result they wantedKwacky wrote:The counting was taking place in a village hall.
Someone had booked it for a game of badminton. So they had to move and count again.

Re: General Election 2019?
Eh?
You've had 2 general elections after the referendum to get the government you wanted, so that's 3 governments before getting the right one for brexit
You've not thought this through, have you?

I’m on the piss in London hammering my company credit card. Just spaffed around a grand in Soho on beer wine and food. I’m extremely lucky but how many working families visited food banks today?C00kiemonster wrote:If we are not happy with the result I would imagine he's devastated..Kwacky wrote:Is Monty in the process of leaving the country?
Around 14 million people if you’re interested.

Re: General Election 2019?
Even lower turnout than the 2017 election.
Thanks in part to the strategically planned timing, the youth vote was largely the same (despite the large increase in registrations reported).
All that really does suggest to me that our democracy needs reform,
--or is it just that our populous have become so complacent & presumptuous that it's not simply "the system" that's at fault.??

The system in place doesn't represent the overall vote. If we had PR everyone would know their vote makes a difference.StMarks wrote:Even lower turnout than the 2017 election.

Re: General Election 2019?
So does that mean the ‘Reasons not to visit Australia’ thread is going to change to ‘why we are moving to Australia’???
Hope so I need some riding buddies that know how to go around corners properly.

Aus maybe a bit full of fires, but it is warm and sunny and has lots of hot totty walking round in skimpy swimsuits all the time. Well, that's what the telly tells me anyway..

Re: General Election 2019?
Oz is too hot for me.
I have a friend who emigrated out there some 30 years ago and she is starting to say the temps are getting too much for her now. Its not just hot, but unbearably hot and dry.
Her hubby has been out building the fire breaks, it is apparently a legal requirement on your own land and if you don't do it, then you will be prosecuted. They use drones to check on a frequent basis. He had to do this in 40+ degree heat.

Re: General Election 2019?
Couple of genuine questions for kiwi as I genuinely don't know the answers, but I don't think Australia is much different to the UK at the moment.
Isn't a conservatism government in power in Australia at the moment?
Is Austriala part of any union with neighbouring countries or have they made independent free trade agreements with a number of other independent countries?
Has Australia got reasonable controls on immigration?
Was The Australian Medicare system ranked lower than the NHS in a recent survey?
Genuine questions, not a wind up.
Grass always seems better on the other side, but reality will tell you that isn't always the case.

Re: General Election 2019?
If only there was an online search engine. Someone should create one, I reckon it would be popular.
Cabinet selection on Monday. That'll give us a clear indication which way Johnson intends to take this government. Inclusion or exclusion of the ERG will be interesting.

!.6 million food parcels were given out during the last 6 months, google it.D41 wrote:Monty wrote: Around 14 million people if you’re interested.

14 million, sounds a bit like it's one of Diane Abbot's figures.
Maybe Monty donated his food and drink purchase to one of the food banks in London..........

Re: General Election 2019?
You're questioning if over 20% of the UK population went to a food bank on a single day?

Re: General Election 2019?
"The Independent" is saying 4 million...or 1 in 14 people.
I thought that maybe a tiny error had occurred in Monty's calculations....
As if!!!!
