I'm going to have a proper sit down and work out what I'm going to do long term once I know what state the zx6r is in. If that needs replacing then I might keep the SX and get a new sports bike. I wouldn't rule out a naked sportsbike.

The bike clicked over the 20,000 mark today.

Ordered some new Bendix MRR pads for the front. There's some life left in the old ones but with a service coming up I don't want to add to the costs of that. Plus it gives me an excuse to bleed the brakes and clean the callipers.

I need to try them. I put the Brembo SC pads on my bike as by all accounts there amazing and should be for how much they cost. Reality is there no better than OEM and no improvement and feel wooden.

They were night and day on my bike, very impressed with them. No heat up time at all, very consistent and a nice initial bite. Suspect the one's I replaced were the original pads and were very shiny and full of big holes in the surface so difficult to do a fair comparison with the OEM ones.

Brake power is not bad tbh but it's no improvement over oem and feel wooden but in fairness so did oem and Rockets non abs is the same although I think he has Kwackys favourite Mrr pads installed.

When I fitted SBS rs pads to my Blade the difference and improvement were huge.

The MRR pads had a bit more life in them than I thought. I reckon there was another 1,000 miles left in them.

Chain is loosening quicker than I had hoped. It's in good nick and no tight spots but it's needing adjusting more than the OEM.

I might go back to Tsubaki when I switch over.

No. It was certainly tight when got it.

It's a DID chain. I was told they've improved but it doesn't look like it. Afam or tsubaki for me in the future.

How many times have you adjusted the chain Kwacky? If its only been a couple I'd say it's definitely got too many links. When it was fitted if it had a extra link or two, they still would've been able to have it tensioned ok but the wheel would've been sitting in the second half of its adjustment range and caused you to run out of adjustment well before the end of the life of the chain.

If you have A 525 chain, measure across 20 links, new they are 317.5 to 318.2 mm, and service limit is 323 mm. If yours is under that and the chain is in otherwise good nick (no tight spots etc) I'd remove a link to get your adjustment back in range.

From a quick search your chain with OEM gearing should be 112 links.

My DID X-ring extreme is great.. done well over a year with a fair few trackdays and road abusive miles.

I adjust it about 1/16th of a turn every time I've done a trackday but purely out of anal-ness
