Nah, she's tucked up in her own cover in the garage with a trickle charger. She gets special treatment

. Jane won't let me heat the garage though Lol..
It's for the workhorse Mondeo which is 7 years old and on her original battery so good value really. It still starts ok but is a little reluctant to turn over and I don't want to get stuck anywhere over Christmas tbh.

A nice letter from the lovely people at the DVLA with a £100 fine!
Apparently it's not enough to have tax and MOT on a bike with no engine in it, you need insurance as well. Feckers!

Ouch. No way to appeal?

That's rubbish.
Why can they force you to have insurace? Surely that's a choice if it's declared off the road.

It's not declared off road as I didn't think I had to if it was taxed and MOTed. The barstewards have changed the law, now you must SORN it if it's not insured.

The french have a clever way of dealing with this as you can buy insurance for a couple of euros or so each month that basically just states your insured. It does not cover you when your on the road, but covers you for the legal minimum, which is every vehicle should be insured.
Would have been ideal for you Monty. That's sucks.
Have they given you points or just a fine?

Just a fine Cookie.
I'm tempted to tell them to GFTS and let them impound the bike, which will be in several hundred pieces by the time they come round.

Watch they can't take it any further. The last thing you want is your licence endorsed with an insurance related offence.

Yeah I'll probably just pay the fine. Just narks me that these idiots come up with hair brain ideas to catch offenders and all they actually achieve is taking money off law abiding people.

Sorry to hear this Monty. Got to be worth a challenge. You have done nothing wrong so why should you be punished its not fair.

Nice. Are they for the 748? What sort of difference does it make? Increase comfort / reduce width? etc

Yes for the 748. They are adjustable in terms of the angle so i can have them low and steeply angled as per the orginal ones or adjust them so they are more horizontal. I think they have 6 different settings.
The bar fits onto the fork clamp in a different place too, bringing the bar nearer to the rider by about an inch and supposedly giving a more direct feeling to the steering.

Its a letter from the manufacture stating when the bike was made so when i apply for the v5 it will get an age related plate rather than a q plate which hikes up the insurance. All being well
